Meeting held <br /> with HCV Program participants and other community affordable housing <br /> providers on April 13, 2016 in Chapel Hill. <br /> • Educated the Community and BOCC on affordable housing needs in <br /> support of including affordable housing in the Bond Referendum. <br /> • Full membership and active participation and attendance of members <br /> For next fiscal year some items already discussed include: <br /> • Planning for a 2017 Affordable Housing Conference (in collaboration with <br /> the Affordable Housing Advisory Board) (deferred from 2016) <br /> • Developing a family self-sufficiency program <br /> • Landlord outreach and incentives <br /> • Review and Amendment of the HCV Program Administrative Plan <br /> • Increasing homeownership participation <br /> • Educating the community on affordable housing needs and the importance <br /> to the vitality of the County (ongoing) <br /> • Continued advocacy on behalf of low-income families in need of <br /> sustainable housing solutions (ongoing) <br /> List of Specific Tasks, Events, or Functions Performed or Sponsored <br /> Annually. <br /> • Submission of Five Year and Annual Plan (mandated by HUD) <br /> • Submission of Section Eight Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) <br /> score <br /> • Review/adoption of Administrative Plan <br /> Describe this board/commission's activities/accomplishments in carrying <br /> p Y g <br /> out BOCC goal(s)/priorities, if applicable. <br /> Our board continues to provide oversight and accountability (on behalf of the <br /> BOCC) to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) <br /> ensuring that complaints about the HCV are reviewed and responded to as well <br /> as being available to speak to and work with community groups (like the <br /> Affordable Housing Alliance) who advocate for housing programs and policies <br /> that benefit low-income families. <br /> Describe the collaboration relationship(s) this particular board has with <br /> other advisory boards and commissions? <br /> Several of our appointed commissioners also serve on the Affordable Housing <br /> Advisory Board and regarding Fair Housing, we share an interest in the work of <br /> the Orange County Human Relations Commission. <br />
