66 <br /> Identify any activities this board/commission expects to carry out in 2017 <br /> as they relate to established BOCC goals and priorities. <br /> If applicable, is there a fiscal impact (i.e., funding, staff time, and other <br /> resources) associated with these proposed activities (please list). <br /> • Continue to improve economic development <br /> • Continue to recruit new sources of business for Orange County hotels, <br /> restaurants, events and hospitality related business. <br /> • Study the feasibility of a multi-purpose conference center for Orange <br /> County <br /> • Study the feasibility of increased sports fields for Orange County <br /> • Attract a new hotel property to Hillsborough <br /> What are the concerns or emerging issues your board has identified for the <br /> upcoming year that it plans to address, or wishes to bring to the <br /> Commissioners' attention? <br /> • The financial participation of Carrboro and Hillsborough in dedicating a <br /> portion of their occupancy taxes to the agency. <br /> • A continued study of a possible move to Chapel Hill's Old Town Hall. <br /> • Finding new conference business to replace the $500,000 in business we <br /> have lost due to HB2. <br /> • Committing to a Civil Rights project in conjunction with BOCC. <br /> • Continuing to study the brand and assure that it reflects the goals of <br /> BOCC. <br /> • Finding new sources of overnight business for Orange County's growing <br /> hotel inventory so that we don't end up with market cannibalization and <br /> empty properties. <br /> • Support Orange County's Community Relations goals where applicable. <br />
