is <br /> 64 <br /> What are your Board/Commission's most important accomplishments? <br /> Launching a nationwide travel writer conference, North American Travel <br /> Journalists Association, which will bring 100 travel writers to Orange County in <br /> May 2017. <br /> Launching a new website, with the URL, www.visitchapelhill.orq that promotes <br /> Orange County's rich history, the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, <br /> Carrboro and Hillsborough to 50,000 monthly website viewers. <br /> A new agricultural AP, titled North Carolina Farms, spotlight on Orange County, <br /> with Annie Baggett at North Carolina Department of Agriculture. The App will be <br /> released in February and spotlights farming, farm markets, self-guided tours and <br /> pick your own stands. <br /> A tourism advertising campaign was launched that reminds visitors that ALL ARE <br /> WELCOME in Orange County. The LGBT friendly campaign won a platinum <br /> award in September from the Destination Management Association of North <br /> Carolina. <br /> Annually, the agency services 12,000 guests through a walk in Visitors Center, <br /> distributes 50,000 visitor guides and maps and lends support to special event <br /> celebrations in Orange County, from the Handmade Puppet Parade in <br /> Hillsborough to Carrboro Music Festival, and Chapel Hill's Festifall. <br /> List of Specific Tasks, Events, or Functions Performed or Sponsored Annually. <br /> The Visitors Bureau's accomplishments are possible only through collaborations <br /> with local partners. Some of these partners include: <br /> UNC <br /> • Orange County's annual Agricultural Summit <br /> • Town of Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation <br /> • Orange County Parks and Recreation <br /> • Heritage events and sponsorship of historical venues and their events <br /> • Black Alumni Reunion and other key events through the.General Alumni <br /> Association <br /> • Film Festival in Carrboro <br /> • TerraVita <br /> • 2nd Friday Artwalk <br /> • Orange County Arts Commission marketing <br /> • Farms and annual Farm tour <br /> • Advertising in publications that attract family reunions and events <br /> • Building the number and variety of wedding events in Orange County <br /> • Handmade Art parade and cultural events throughout the county <br /> • Farm to Fork annual event <br />
