The <br /> board does not meet in July or December. <br /> Brief Statement of Board/Commission's Assigned Charge and <br /> Responsibilities. <br /> The Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau is a division of Orange County <br /> government and a department of Orange County Economic Development. <br /> When Orange County established the Visitors Bureau in 1992, direct visitor <br /> spending in Orange County was $64.55 million. Today it is $184.45 million, a <br /> 185.7% increase. <br /> Tourism works for Orange County and this agency, staffed by six and housed in <br /> Orange County's Bentley Building at 501 W. Franklin Street continues to work <br /> hard to contribute to the economy. <br />
