Hillsborough 27278 <br /> 919-732-3432 ext 102 ocabc(a�mindspring.com <br /> Primary County Staff Contact: Earl McKee and Donna Baker <br /> How many times per month does this board/commission meet, including any special <br /> meetings and sub-committee meetings? <br /> The Board meets once per month on the 3rd Tuesday at 8:30am <br /> Provide a Brief Statement of the Boards Assigned Charge and Responsibilities. <br /> The Orange County ABC Board is a political subdivision of the state and operated as an <br /> independent government agency inside Orange County. <br /> The Mission of the Orange County ABC Board and our employees is to serve our locality <br /> responsibly by controlling the sale of spirituous liquor, returning profits to Law Enforcement, <br /> Alcohol Education, and the County Fund while providing excellent service in customer <br /> friendly, modern and efficient stores. <br /> What are your Board/Commission's most important accomplishments? <br /> A distribution of$400,000 is being made to the Orange County General fund for 2016-2017. <br /> The board also set aside $48,333 to contribute to the Board Retiree Health Care Plan. We <br /> will distribute $149,000 to Alcohol Law Enforcement agencies. The board also committed <br /> $209,150 to Alcohol Rehabilitation and Education grants for schools and local community <br /> organizations. All of these distributions are well over and above General Statute <br /> requirements. The board also adopted the living wage at an increased payroll cost of$100k <br /> per year. <br /> List of Specific Tasks, Events, or Functions Performed or Sponsored Annually. <br /> We partner with local agencies by providing grants for work done in the community for <br /> alcohol education, rehabilitation and underage drinking prevention in the amounts listed <br /> below. <br /> Lutheran Family Services $ 3,000 <br /> Mental Health Orange Co Teen Partnership $ 10,000 <br />
