Develop new maps and resources for public to learn about and enhance enjoyment of parks and trails • Develop with staff a plan for expansion of the Soccer.com Center planned for 2019 to address the need for more soccer facilities • Help develop revisions to Blackwood Farm Park master plan in advance of planned 2018 construction. • Try to engage Town of Chapel Hill in moving ahead with master planning for Millhouse Road Park. What are the concerns or emerging issues your board has identified for the upcoming year that it plans to address, or wishes to bring to the Commissioners' attention? • With new national reports due out in 2017, examine the feasibility of synthetic turf athletic fields. Look at how creation of the new field at Cedar Falls has absorbed demand and whether this has changed the overall need for fields. • Examine new ideas for healthy and accessible play areas, including inclusive play areas, natural play areas and other new ideas. Determine whether these should be incorporated into existing or future park master plans. • Address a need for long-term funding to achieve the adopted goals of the Orange County Comprehensive Plan and Parks and Recreation Master Plan 2030.
