8 <br /> Received American Society on Aging's national award for Multicultural work in the field of aging. <br /> • Continuation of two award programs to promote high quality services within long-term care <br /> organizations - the Direct Care Worker Award and the Long Term Care Quality Service Award. <br /> • Continuing of the Orange County's Dementia-Friendly Business Campaign recognized as the first <br /> in the State. Currently 50+ business/agencies have completed the training. <br /> • Co-hosted Bill Thomas' Age of Disruption national tour. <br /> List of Specific Tasks, Events, or Functions Performed or Sponsored Annually. <br /> • Provide Orange County representation to the Triangle J Area Agency on Aging and the Senior <br /> Tar Heel Legislature. <br /> • Hold an annual Master Aging Plan update meeting for the public and partner agencies. <br /> • Make recommendations to the BOCC of potential legislative issues to be included in the Orange <br /> County legislative agenda. <br /> Describe this board/commission's activities/accomplishments in carrying out BOCC <br /> goal(s)/priorities, if applicable. <br /> Through the MAP process this board addresses the BOCC goals of promoting and protecting the well- <br /> being of all older adults, including addressing diversity, economic issues and the ability to age in <br /> community. <br /> Describe the collaboration relationship(s) this particular board has with other advisory boards <br /> and commissions? <br /> This board has representation on the Nursing Home and Adult Care Home Community Advisory <br /> Committee and also had representation on the OUTboard until June when our board member retired. <br /> Two representatives of this board serve on the TJCOG AAA Advisory Board on Aging. <br /> If your board/commission played the role of an Element Lead Advisory Board involved in the <br /> 2030 Comprehensive Plan preparation process, please indicate your board's <br /> activities/accomplishments as they may relate to the Comprehensive Plan's goals or objectives. <br /> (The Element Lead Advisory Boards include: Planning Board, EDC, OUTBoard, Commission for <br /> the Environment, Historic Preservation Commission, Agriculture Preservation Board, Affordable <br /> Housing Board, Recreation and Parks Advisory Council) <br /> Not Applicable <br /> Identify any activities this board/commission expects to carry out in 2017 as they relate to <br /> established BOCC goals and priorities. If applicable, is there a fiscal impact (Le., funding, staff <br /> time, other resources) associated with these proposed activities (please list). <br /> We are in the process of developing the 2017-22 Master Aging Plan and anticipate that some goals will <br /> also relate to BOCC goals. <br />
