I have worked in both the public <br /> and private sector and am aware of the different requirements of each. <br /> More recently I worked for 6 years at the Orange County Public Library where I was in a very <br /> public facing role,working closely and interacting with the local community, and this has enabled <br /> me to see how much people value what wonderful resources there are in this area and how <br /> much the work of local arts organizations brings the community together. <br /> I have a BA in English Literature, and MAs in Museum Studies and Historic Preservation,which <br /> combined helps understand how to place the arts scene in a historic context. I also received a <br /> certificate for an Introduction to Arts Management course in December 2016 from the University <br /> of Massachusetts online. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> I have lived and worked in Orange County for 8 years,first in Chapel Hill and then in <br /> Hillsborough, and am very invested in the local arts community, which I feel is of extraordinary <br /> quality and quantity.
