My first degree from Mills College <br /> is a BFA, with an emphasis is art history and studio arts (painting, printmaking, sculpture, <br /> drawing, and ceramics). My second degree from California State University Long Beach in 2011 <br /> is a MFA in Creative Writing with an emphasis in poetry. <br /> I also received a teaching credential from Mills College and taught junior high school art for five <br /> years in the Oakland Unified School District. My first arts management position was for the City <br /> of San Rafael, California managing an 1898 historic mansion called Falkirk. From that position I <br /> served as director of arts commissions, developed public art programs for various cities and was <br /> Public Art Coordinator for the City of Sacramento and the City of Phoenix,Arizona. I was the <br />
