7".r.) <br /> L.) <br /> 3 <br /> AGREEMENT FOR <br /> PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br /> NEW HOPE-ENO RIVER <br /> • - - • <br /> OPEN SPACE CORRIDOR MASTER PLAN <br /> This agreement is herein agreed to on this clay of , 1989, by the City of Durham, <br /> Durham County,Town of Chapel Hill, and Orange County, hereinafter known as the local governments; <br /> and Coulter and Associates, hereinafter known as the Consultant. The project will be funded through <br /> and assisted primarily by the Durham City-County Planning Department, and assisted secondarily by <br /> the Chapel Hill Mayor's office, and the Orange County Planning Department. <br /> 1. SCOPE OF WORK <br /> A. Purpose <br /> The purpose of this project is to prepare a Master Plan for the New Hope-Eno River Open <br /> Space Corridor. The Master Plan will consist of: <br /> 1) an analysis of natural and land use features; <br /> 2) areas recommended for protection; <br /> 3) protection technique recommended for each parcel in each area; <br /> 4) general cost estimates to implement the protection techniques for each parcel; <br /> 5) identification of priorities for protection; and <br /> • 6) a proposed program for phased implementation. <br /> The Plan will be developed with public participation through a New Hope-Eno River Advisory <br /> Committee. The Plan will be submitted as a camera-ready booklet, including maps, overlays, <br /> and text; it will be presented to the elected bodies for adoption. <br /> B. Study Area <br /> The primary study area is the floodplain on New Hope Creek north of the land owned by the <br /> U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, floodplain on Mud Creek, and the corridor to the Eno River <br /> through Duke Forest Korstian Division in Orange County and Durham Division in Durham County. <br /> This corridor is generally identified by the attached map. <br /> The secondary study area includes land adjacent to New Hope Creek and Mud Creek <br /> floodplains and adjacent to Corps of Engineers land along New Hope Creek. <br /> 1 <br /> • <br />
