ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. H <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: August 1, 1989 <br /> SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS <br /> DEPARTMENT: COMMISSIONERS PUBLIC HEARING YES: } <br /> Na: X <br /> ATTACHMENT(S) ; UNDER SEPARATE COVER INFORMATION CONTACT: BEVERLY BLYTHE <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To maintain membership at effective levels on Commissioners' <br /> appointed boards and commissions. <br /> BACKGROUND: The following recommendations are presented for consideration <br /> of appointment: <br /> ABC BOARD: Reappoint Mary Howes to a three-year term ending June 30, <br /> 1992. No limit to the number of terms has been established for the <br /> state-mandated ABC Board. Mrs. Howes has served on this board since <br /> September, 1983. <br /> ARTS COMMISSION: Appoint Thomas E. Link to fill the unexpired term of <br /> Roland Buchanan who has moved to Durham. The partial term will end <br /> in February of 1991 and Mr. Link will be eligible for reappointment. <br /> HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION: Appoint Shu-Mei Huang as an "At Large" <br /> representative for to a full three-year term. Her appointment will <br /> terminate November 30, 1992 and she will be eligible for another full <br /> term. <br /> NURSING HOME COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE: Appoint Dr. William <br /> Gronemeyer as the medical representative to replace Mrs. Marian <br /> Donaldson who resigned in June. Also appoint Mrs. Lucia Anderson to <br /> an "At Large" position. Both appointees will serve an initial one- <br /> year training internship and be eligible for appointment to two full <br /> terms. <br /> CHAPEL HILL PLANNING BOARD: Accept the recommendation of the Chapel <br /> Hill Town Council to appoint Ms. Marianna Chambliss as an extra- <br /> territorial representative to the Chapel Hill Planning Board. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : As the Board decides. <br />
