Workplace Act <br /> of 1988 (Pub.L. 100-690, Title V, Subtitle D) . <br /> This statue requires contractors and grantees of . <br /> Federal agencies to certify that they will <br /> •rovide dru.-free work.laces. Makin. the <br /> required certification is a precondition of <br /> receiving a contract or grant from a Federal <br /> agency beginning on March 18 , 1989. It directs <br /> that grantees take steps to provide a drug-free <br /> workplace in accordance with the Act. (review <br /> Attach Act) . <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : Approve and sign the attached <br /> Certification with the understanding that <br /> it is the County's full intention to <br /> develop a policy by September 1, 1989 via <br /> input from a Drug Free Workplace Task <br /> Force. <br />
