Pre-Employment Skills Training/Job Placement Dropout <br /> Prevention -- training and program activities provided to <br /> in-school youth to prevent them from dropping out of <br /> school and enhance their transition from school into the <br /> labor market. <br /> Funding Allocation: FY 1989-90 - $55, 000 <br /> FY 1988-89 - $40,000 <br /> Planned Enrollment : 80 participants <br /> Program Operator: Orange County Schools <br /> 2. On-The-Job Training -- for individuals whose skill levels <br /> are inadequate to gain employment without special <br /> consideration from an employer. Training contracts are <br /> developed on an individual basis with interested <br /> employers in the area. Employers are reimbursed up to <br /> 50* of the trainee's hourly wage to cover the <br /> extraordinary cost of training. <br /> Funding Allocation: FY 1989-90 - $43,452 <br /> FY 1988-89 - $37,389 <br /> Planned Enrollment: 20 participants <br /> Program Operator: Employment Security Commission <br /> 3. Institutionalized Offenders Project -- focuses on <br /> outreach, recruitment and assessment services to <br /> offenders while they are in prison or on parole. This <br /> training program utilizes available community resources <br /> to provide jobs and training plans for the offender. The <br /> goal is to minimize the impact of release and re-entry <br /> into the community. <br /> Funding Allocation: FY 1989-90 - $13,500 <br /> FY 1988-89 - $13,500 <br /> Planned Enrollment: 20 participants <br /> Program Operator: Employment Security Commission • <br /> 4. Summer Youth Employment Program <br /> Funding Allocation: Summer 1989 - $40,000 <br /> Summer 1988 - $45,579 <br /> Planned Enrollment : 32 participants <br />
