1111 <br /> MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT <br /> • <br /> 6 <br /> This memorandum confirms the agreement between the Orange County Health <br /> 11 2 <br /> Department (OCHD) and Planned Parenthood of Orange County (PPOC) to implement the <br /> minority AIDS education project "In the Know". This agreement is for the period <br /> October 1. 1938 through September 30. 1989. <br /> 1 A. PPOC will provide the following services: <br /> 1. The Natural Helpers Project Coordinator will meet with the OCHD "In the <br /> Know" Advisory Board. The Board will help provide community support for <br /> the project. identify potential Natural Helpers, review AIDS-related <br /> educational materials. . • <br /> 2. PPOC will recruit, train, and supervise Natural Helpers to provide <br /> information about AIDS and family planning issues. Previously trained <br /> Natural Helpers will receive approximately 4-6 hours of additional <br /> training in AIDS-related issues. At least five minority helpers will be <br /> trained. <br /> 3. An additional group of helpers will be trained in northern Orange County <br /> on issues related to teen pregnancy and AIDS by December 30. At least <br /> five minority helpers will be trained. • <br /> 4. In Spring 1989. 5-10 minority Natural Helpers will be trained in <br /> southern Orange County on issues related to teen pregnancy and AIDS. <br /> 5. PPOC will provide at least five community AIDS education programs. At <br /> least two of these will be in collaboration with other agencies and <br /> organizations in the community. <br /> 6. PPOC Natural Helpers will provide information about and referrals for <br /> • AIDS to approximately 200 community members by September 30. 1989. <br /> B. All volunteers trained by PPOC will be supervised by the PPOC Natural <br /> Helpers Project Coordinator. This supervision will include personal visits, <br /> contact by telephone, and monitoring of volunteer reports. <br /> C. The OCHD Clerk will provide secretarial support to the Program. This will <br /> include production and distribution of Natural Helpers newsletter, <br /> notification of meetings and distribution of the monthly calendar to <br /> Helpers, preparing materials for training, and tabulating and typing of <br /> reports. <br /> D. PPOC will provide quarterly reports to the OCHD on progress toward meeting <br /> objectives and expenses incurred. These reports will be due to OCHD on <br /> April 15, July 15, and October 15. The format of the reports will be <br /> consistent with the reports required ,by the Division of Health Services. <br /> OCHD will file reports with the Division of Health Services. <br /> E. OCHD agrees to pay PPOC for services provided under the term of this <br /> contract. Total compensation will not exceed $18,021 (see attached budget) . <br /> Compensation will be made in the following manner: <br /> 1. For the first and second quarters: Upon execution of this agreement. <br /> OCHD will make payment to PPOC of one-quarter of the funds budgeted for <br /> the year. <br /> • <br />
