NO: X <br /> ATTACHMENT(S) : INFORMATION CONTACT: MANAGER'S OFFICE <br /> X501 <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> • Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider releasing $15,000 reserve to Carrboro for the <br /> Farmer's Market. <br /> BACKGROUND: During the final budget work session of June 15, the <br /> Commissioners asked for clarification as to operational <br /> procedures of the Farmer's Market prior to releasing the <br /> $15,000 appropriation to Carrboro. <br /> Fletcher Barber, Extension Director, Keith Baldwin, <br /> Extension Agent and. Bob Morgan, Carrboro Town Manager were <br /> asked to respond to the, Manager's inquiry on the present <br /> operation of the Carrboro Farmer's Market. The substance <br /> of their response indicates confidence that the organization <br /> as presently structured is efficiently and effectively managed. <br /> Protocols are in place to assure that sellers are treated in <br /> an equitable manner. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : Based on the above referenced responses, the Manager <br /> recommends that the $15,000 be conveyed to the Town of Carrboro. <br />
