• <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> Agreement Between <br /> Orange County Health Department and <br /> The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - <br /> Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology <br /> All care rendered will be appropriately documented in writing. <br /> B. The Medical Director of OCHD will be in attendance every <br /> Thursday between the inclusive hours of 1 :30 p.m. and 4 :30 p.m. for the <br /> following purposes: <br /> 1. Consultation about patient referrals from nurse <br /> practitioner. <br /> 2. To serve as primary obstetric and gynecologic supervisor <br /> for OCHD nurse practitioner, perform chart verification <br /> and signature for all prenatal patients who have been seen <br /> by the nurse practitioner and the resident during the <br /> previous week as required by the Board of Medical <br /> Examiners. <br /> 3. Individual and Group conferences with residents, nurse <br /> practitioner, Public Health nurses, for staff development <br /> and explanation of OCHD policies and management <br /> procedures , case conferences and in—service education. <br /> 4 . Development of standing orders procedure manual for <br /> nurses, nurse practitioners and residents . <br /> 5. The Medical Director shall accept responsibility for the <br /> work done by the nurse practitioners during the morning <br /> hours of each clinic. <br /> C. The University 's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology <br /> proposes to contract for 50 clinics per year (there being no clinic during <br /> Thanksgiving week and allowance being made for one additional week relative <br /> to an agreed upon holiday) . Each clinic will require 2 1/2 hours of <br /> resident time. For 50 clinics the total cost per year would be $8,344.00. <br /> D. Upon request, The University will provide evidence of <br /> Professional Liability coverage by the North Carolina Memorial Hospital in <br /> the amount of at least $1,000,000.00 on all duly appointed members of the <br /> duly appointed Housestaff under the self insurance program of the of the <br /> University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In order to cover financial <br /> • <br /> liability which may arrise from the negligence or wrongful acts or <br /> omissions of such residents/housestaff while on rotation at Orange County <br /> Health Department. <br /> E. This Agreement shall run for a period of one (1) year from the <br /> 1st day of July. 1989 to the 30th day of June, 1910 and shall be renewal <br /> from year to year thereafter upon written notice executed by both parties. <br /> F. This Agreement or its renewals may be terminated at any time <br /> without penalty by either party provided that written notice of such <br /> termination is furnished to the other party at least 30 days prior to <br />
