Plif 4.-6441 <br /> A <br /> A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE SITUS FOR AD VALOREM PROPERTY <br /> TAXES AND GOVERNMENTAL SERVICES ADJACENT TO THE CHATHAM AND . <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOUNDARY <br /> WHEREAS, Orange and Chatham Counties have agreed to establish <br /> and locate their common boundary; and <br /> WHEREAS, each County wishes to make the impact of the <br /> location of said boundary upon adjacent property owners <br /> minimal; and <br /> WHEREAS, there are properties which were previougly taxed <br /> according to agreements between the Tax Assessors of each <br /> County because of difficulties in determining the location of <br /> residences near the Chatham-Orange boundary; and. <br /> WHEREAS, the owners of said properties have become used to <br /> paying taxes in one county and receiving that county's <br /> governmental services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the newly located boundary will allow more accurate <br /> identification of the proper county for ad valorem tax <br /> purposes and for other governmental services as well; and <br /> WHEREAS, both counties desire that said property owners not <br /> experience a negative disruption of expected services; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners <br /> of Chatham and Orange Counties as follows: <br /> 1. Owners of property on or near the newly located <br /> boundary between Orange and Chatham County, and which <br /> property is recorded in both counties' Registries may <br /> continue to list and pay ad valorem taxes and receive <br /> governmental services allowed by law from the county in which <br />
