3. Orange County agrees that the EMS communicators whose services <br /> are provided pursuant to this Agreement shall .have at least two years <br /> of Emergency Medical Service Communication experience, or its <br /> equivalent. <br /> 4. Both Orange County and The Hospital understand and agree that <br /> The Hospital will have administrative and professional supervision of <br /> such EMS communicators while they are rendering services to The <br /> Hospital under this Agreement. Professional activities and services <br /> rendered pursuant to this Agreement shall be in compliance with <br /> policies and protocols developed and agreed upon by designated <br /> representatives of The Hospital. <br /> 5. Both Orange County and The Hospital agree and understand that <br /> if at any time The Hospital determines that an EMS communicators <br /> performance or professional interactions are inadequate or <br /> inappropriate, The Hospital may request removal of the EMS <br /> communicator. The Hospital shall provide sufficient documentation to <br /> Orange County detailing the reasons for the Hospital's request for <br /> replacement. Such documentation shall be in a form that is in <br /> compliance with the Orange County Personnel Ordinance regarding <br /> disciplinary action. <br /> 6. The Hospital agrees to provide astraining experience for the <br /> six full-time EMS communicators relevant to duties specific to their <br /> functions with The Hospital's air ambulance program. Training shall <br /> include any travel or educational outreach approved by the Program <br /> Director or Designee, not to exceed $1,000 (annually for the group) . <br /> 7. Both Orange County and The Hospital understand and agree that <br /> Orange County may designate an in-Hospital liaison accountable to <br /> Orange County Office of Emergency Medical Services for EMS <br /> communicator personnel functions such as discipline, scheduling, <br /> holidays, sick leave. The Hospital liaison will be the Lead <br /> Paramedic/Assistant Director of Carolina Air Care. <br /> 8. In return for the services of EMS communicators, as <br /> identified herein, The Hospital agrees .to reimburse Orange County for <br /> the cost of salaries and fringe benefits of six full-time EMS <br /> communicators, including time during the training period referenced in <br /> paragraph 6 above. "Fringe benefits," as used herein, shall include <br /> Orange County's contributions to the local government employee's <br /> retirement system, health insurance, life insurance/accidental death <br /> and dismemberment and workers' compensation for the EMS communicators <br /> covered by this Agreement. At its option, The Hospital shall either <br /> reimburse Orange County for the cost of or provide coverage for <br /> professional liability insurance for the EMS communicators whose <br /> services are provided pursuant to this Agreement. Pursuant to these <br /> agreements, The Hospital shall reimburse Orange County at the rate of <br /> $15,800 per month, subject to such modification of this monthly amount <br /> as is necessary following specific agreement between the parties of <br />
