2 <br /> MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW <br /> JUNE 5, 1989 <br /> The Orange County Board of Equalization and Review convened <br /> at 7:00 p.m. , June 5, 1989 at the Old Court House in <br /> Hillsborough, N.C. <br /> Board Members Present: Moses Carey, Chairman <br /> Shirley Marshall <br /> Don Wilhoit <br /> Board Members Absent: John Hartwell <br /> Stephen Halkiotis <br /> Staff Members Present: Kermit Lloyd, Assessor <br /> John Smith, Chief Appraiser <br /> Donn Tapp, Appraiser <br /> Also present was John Link, County Manager. <br /> The Board of Equalization and Review was called to order by <br /> Moses Carey, Chairman. <br /> Moses Carey asked Mr. Lloyd to review his recommendations for <br /> the three apartment complex appeals: Woodbridge I, Franklin <br /> Woods, and Brookstone. <br /> Mr. Lloyd recommended no adjustment for Woodbridge I, an <br /> adjustment for Franklin Woods from $3,524,355 to $3,186,000 <br /> and adjustment to $7,600,000 for Brookstone. <br /> Mrs. Marshall made the motion to accept Mr. Lloyd's <br /> recommendations on all three apartment complexes and Mr. <br /> Carey seconded the motion. The Board voted three (3) Ayes in <br /> favor of the motion and none against. <br /> On Mr. George Harvey's appeal, Mr. Carey made the motion to <br /> adjust the value to $64/sq. ft. to include the house, land, <br /> and garage and the pool as an addition. Mrs. Marshall <br /> seconded the motion and the Board voted three (3) Ayes in <br /> favor of the motion and none against. <br /> Mr. Carey explained that the Board would make no change and <br /> take no action on the C.E. Squires case. <br /> Having issued resolutions on all presented appeals, and <br /> having no other business to consider, Mr. Carey made the <br /> motion to adjourn the 1989 Board of Equalization and Review. <br /> Mrs. Marshall seconded the motion and the Board voted <br /> unanimously in favor of the motion. <br />
