PUBLIC HEARING YES: NO: XX <br /> ATTACHMENT(S) : INFORMATION CONTACT: PAM JONES <br /> EXT 498 <br /> CONTRACT (under separate cover) Telephone Number- <br /> Hillsborough -732-8181 <br /> Chapel Sill -967-9251 <br /> Mebane -227-2031 <br /> Durham -688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider an agreement with Orange Family <br /> Medical Group P.A. , Inc. to provide medical care to <br /> inmates in the County's jail . <br /> BACKGROUND: State law requires that medical care be made available to <br /> all inmates held in the County jail . Orange Family Medical <br /> Center has provided the service since July 1 , 1985. Both <br /> parties to this agreement are satisfied with the arrangement <br /> and are therefore prepared to contract for a period of one <br /> year. The Medical Group has agreed to maintain the same <br /> monthly rate, $550 per month, $6,600 per year. As in year's <br /> past, the County will be invoiced separately for lab fees and <br /> x-rays according to the attached fee schedule. <br /> You will note that the name of the Medical Center has been <br /> changed to Orange Family Medical Group, P.A. , Inc. The <br /> Center has recently undergone major organizational changes <br /> and. is now a privately owned facility. Although the <br /> ownership has changed, the care providers will remain the <br /> same. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Approve a contract with Orange Family Medical <br /> Group, P.A. , Inc. for medical services at the Orange County <br /> Jail through June 30, 1990; for a fee of $6,600 per year; and <br /> authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board. <br />
