1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. E.- - <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: JUNE 28, 1989 <br /> SUBJECT: WATER AND SEWER SERVICE--ORANGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br /> DEPARTMENT: COUNTY MANAGER PUBLIC HEARING YES: NO: X <br /> ATTACHMENT(S) : INFORMATION CONTACT: MANAGER'S OFFICE <br /> LETTER FROM SUPERINTENDENT OF X501 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY SCHOOLS TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill -- 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To receive an update on the progress made with regard to <br /> provision of municipal water and sewer service to the new <br /> Orange County elementary school . <br /> BACKGROUND: Dr. Dan Lunsford, Orange County Schools Superintendent, <br /> met with the Hillsborough Town Board on June 19 and the <br /> consensus expressed was a willingness by Hillsborough to <br /> provide water and sewer service to the new elementary school <br /> at the intersection of New Hope Church Road and 86 and a <br /> willingness to share in the costs of line installation. <br /> Such installation will run through a small portion of- the <br /> Rural Buffer, thereby requiring approval by Chapel Hill, <br /> Carrboro and Orange County through our joint planning <br /> agreement. Therefore the staff will be presenting this item <br /> for inclusion in the Public Hearing Notice for the September <br /> 14 Joint Public Hearing. This Public Hearing Notice will be <br /> prepared for presentation at the Commissioners August 15 <br /> meeting. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br />
