Liston to sign <br /> county financial instruments. <br /> BACKGROUND: Ellen G. Liston has been promoted to- Assistant County Manager, <br /> effective June 1, 1989, and is no longer authorized to sign or preaudit <br /> County financial instruments. In the absence of the current Finance <br /> Director, Ken Chavious, there is presently no other person authorized to <br /> sign financial instruments on behalf of the County. <br /> G.S. 159-28a of the North Carolina General Statutes permits other County <br /> officials to perform the signature and preaudit functions if designated <br /> as Deputy Finance Officer by the Governing Board. <br /> • <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> Adopt the attached resolution and authorize Chairman to sign. <br />
