Whisnant and R. Gary' <br /> Phillips. <br /> BACKGROUND: The property in question is located on the north side <br /> of NC 54, at and west of the intersection of NC 54 and <br /> White Cross Road. It is known as part of Lot 8 of Tax <br /> Map 30 of Bingham Township. The total tract contains <br /> 9.49 acres, and fronts on NC 54 for a length of 462 <br /> feet. The area proposed for rezoning includes 2.65 <br /> acres of the 9.49 acre tract. <br /> The area to. be rezoned is along the frontage on NC 54, <br /> at a depth of about 255 feet. There are three zone <br /> changes proposed within the 2.65-acre area: <br /> 1. One acre, located at the southwest corner of the <br /> tract, fronting on Hwy. 54, proposed to be <br /> rezoned from Rural Residential (R-1) to <br /> Neighborhood Commercial (NC-2); <br /> 2. .65 acres on the southeast corner of the tract, <br /> fronting NC 54, and directly across from White <br /> Cross Road, proposed to be rezoned from R-1 to <br /> LC-1; and <br />
