560/
ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT
306F REVERE ROAD r
HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27278
rt e"S
May 5, 1989
Dear Property Owner:
You have been sent the attached Notice of Public Hearing
because you own property within 500' of property proposed to
be rezoned to the PWII Protected Watershed Zoning Overlay
and/or changed to the Resource Protection Area Designation in
the Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan. A map also
accompanies the notice so that you may see where the affected
areas are located.
The proposed changes to the Zoning Atlas and Land Use Element
of the Comprehensive Plan will, not affect the minimum lot
size or the uses permitted. They only extend the boundaries
of the Protected Watershed Zoning . Overlay and/or Resource
Protection Area Designation, in the Land Use Element of the
Comprehensive Plan. Additional requirements of the PWII
overlay include stream buffers and limitations on the amount
of impervious surface.
The area in question is at the corner of four (4) Townships
(Bingham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, and Cheeks) . It was
recently discovered by staff of the Planning Department that
the Zoning Districts and Land Use Element of the
Comprehensive Plan Designation boundaries do not connect
properly between the four townships.
The proposed changes will correct the discrepancies.
Please call Mary Scearbo (extension 347) or David Stencil
(extension 566) if you have any additional questions.
•
