44 <br /> SECTION 3.0. . .LAND USE PLAN <br /> SECTION 3.1. . .PURPOSE AND STRUCTURE OF THE PLAN <br /> The first change in the this section would change the title to <br /> "Land Use Element" and "Purpose and Structure of the Land Use <br /> Element" . Proposed amendment to this section would go on to <br /> describe the realignment of the Comprehensive Plan into Elements <br /> in 1988. <br /> SECTION 3.2. . .BASIC CONCEPTS <br /> The only changes to this section would again change "Land Use <br /> Plan" references to "Land Use Element" . <br /> SECTION 3.3. . .LAND USE PLAN CATEGORIES <br /> Besides the constant change to "Land Use Element" , this section <br /> would be amended to reflect three new plan categories: "Resource <br /> Protection Areas", "Agricultural Areas" , and "Extractive Uses", <br /> which came into use during the Township component updates. <br /> Definitions of these categories would be added. <br /> SECTION 3.4. . .LOCAT/ONAL CRITERIA <br /> Similar to the previous section, locational criteria has been <br /> formulated for the three new plan categories now in existence. No <br /> changes to existing criteria are proposed other than changes to <br /> reflect designations on the 1987 Joint Planning Land Use Plan, or <br /> changes reflecting Land Use "Element" . <br /> SECTION 3.5. . .LAND USE GOALS AND DRAFT POLICIES <br /> No changes in policy or goals are addressed. Changes are made to <br /> delete obsolete phrases, reference the Joint Planning Land Use <br /> Plan, and correct items that have been previously amended during <br /> the township component update. <br /> 4 <br />
