43• <br /> subsection on Water Resources Planning in Orange County with <br /> actions of the Water Resources Task Force since 1979. <br /> SECTION 2.4. . .EXISTING LAND USE AND INFRASTRUCTURE <br /> Updates to this section would deal primarily with new population <br /> and geographic data and sources. Obsolete sections dealing with <br /> 1979 statistics are deleted and rewritten, and new information on <br /> development trends- in the 1980's is added throughout. Further <br /> updates include new population growth data for each township, <br /> mention of the Joint Planning Area, and Cane Creek Reservoir. <br /> SECTION 2.5. . .AGRICULTURE IN ORANGE COUNTY <br /> Changes to this section are not substantial. Passages are changed <br /> to reflect population changes, the Rural Character Study and <br /> updated statistics where available. <br /> SECTION 2.6. . .TRANSPORTATION <br /> No major changes are planned for this section. However, strategic <br /> mention is made up front of the 1988 realignment of the Orange <br /> County Comprehensive Plan into elements, and the designation of <br /> the Transportation Element as separate, but related, to the Land <br /> Use Element. Language to this effect is included, and the section <br /> is changed to a description of road classifications and <br /> interrelatedness of the two elements of the plan. <br /> SECTION 2.7. . .ENERGY USE <br /> No changes are proposed to this section <br /> SECTION 2.8. . .POPULATION <br /> This section contains numerous changes throughout that would <br /> update the 1979 and 1980 Census data used and replace it with <br /> 1987 population data, where available. Sections have also been <br /> rewritten on development trends and average annual growth rates <br /> reflecting changes in both spatial and aspatial population growth <br /> since 1980. Changes reflecting the County's positive in-migration <br /> rate are also added, as well as substantial updates with new <br /> data. A new set of population projections are also substituted <br /> for the 1979 version in the document. <br /> SECTION 2.9. . .EMPLOYMENT <br /> This section would remain basically as is, with added new data on <br /> labor force characteristics. Tables within this section contain <br /> data that is outdated, but cannot be accurately updated until <br /> 1991. Other changes include new unemployment data and a new per <br /> capita income level. <br /> 3 • <br />
