Cer
t4.2.1-1.
May 22, 1989
Dear 'Commissioner,
I am writing to express concern about the new consideration
on rezoning land on the northwest corner of Bowden Road for
multiple residences, I am unable to attend the public hearing
tonight because I heard about it too late. I understand that a
small sign hidden in the weeds and set too far back from the road
was the only noticed given. Obviously, somebody does not want
this issue made public, does not want any public discussion on
the matter, and wants my elected commissioners to believe, that
there is no public dissension.
I am vehemently opposed to this type of multiresidence
development in this area. It threatens our water, it will
drastically alter the appearance and serenity of the area and
there does not seem to be any reason for making developments like
this since it doesn't benefit anyone except the investors.
I really do not understand how rezoning can even be
considered. The recent report commissioned by OWASA recommended
that the watershed should not be developed any further.
In addition, it recommends that if new residences must be added to
this area then they should be isolate by at least 5 acres and
only on land which perks well.
My neighbors share my opinion and if it appears that there
is little public interest tonight then it is probably because of the
poor noticed given. Please consider denying any permit for this
type of development in this area. Thank-you for your
consideration. We will be watching with interest how you resolve
this matter.
Sincerely,
Alan tones
tones
2508 Laine Rd.
1
