20 <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council continues to endorse and <br /> support those projects currently programed in the North Carolina <br /> Transportation Improvement Program, and asks that funding be <br /> accelerated. Those projects include: <br /> 1. Widening the U.S. 15-501/N.C. 54 Bypass; <br /> 2. Widening S. Columbia Street from Mt. Carmel Church <br /> Road/Culbreth Road to Manning Drive from the existing 2-lane <br /> section to a 4-lane curb and gutter section; <br /> 3. Widen N.C. 86 from I-40 to Homestead Road; <br /> 4. Construct bicycle improvements along Weaver Dairy Road between <br /> Airport Road (N.C. 86) and Erwin Road and along the Bolin <br /> Creek greenway; and <br /> 5. Install train gates on Cameron Avenue. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council supports the widening and <br /> improvement of U.S. 15-501 from the Orange-Chatham County line <br /> south to Pittsboro. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council hereby requests that the <br /> State give the Town an opportunity to request bikeways facilities <br /> in conjunction with any future State-supported road improvements <br /> programmed in the Town. <br />
