Prior
to adopting the Program, the Board of Transportation
conducts a series of meetings around the state to
obtain advice from local officials and citizens on
needed improvements.
A public hearing will be held May 1, in Reidsville for
officials and citizens in District 7, the district in
which Orange County is located. The hearing will be
held at the Penn House, 324 Maple Avenue, with
registration beginning at 1:00 pm. Representatives
from each of the municipalities will be presenting
their requests for highway improvements to the Board
of Transportation. Each year, the Chair of the Board
of Commissioners has attended the hearing and spoken
in support of each municipality's request as well as
other needs which Commissioners have identified.
4
