Fikes <br /> HUD Resolution <br /> Annual Contributions Contract TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To adopt a resolution authorizing execution of the <br /> execution of the Section 8 Housing Voucher Program Annual <br /> Contributions Contract . <br /> BACKGROUND: On March 21 , 1989, the County received from the Department <br /> of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) an additional <br /> allocation of approximately 16 vouchers with budget <br /> authority in the amount of $85, 764. This will enable the <br /> Housing and Community Development Department to provide <br /> rental assistance to 16 additional families in the County. <br /> Presently, the County has budget authority for 39 vouchers. <br /> Receipt of this new allocation will increase the program <br /> potential to 55 vouchers. <br /> In order to receive this allocation a Annual Contributions <br /> Contract must be executed. This contract is an agreement <br /> between the County and HUD to provide housing assistance <br /> payments to eligible participants. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : Adopt the resolution authorizing the Chair to sign the <br /> Annual Contributions Contract on behalf of the Board. <br />
