Non-discharge systems are generally
known as ground absorption systems consisting
of land application systems by spray
irrigation onto the surface of the soil and
variations of the conventional ground
absorption system based on low pressure
injection of wastewater into the soil.
3. The use of alternative wastewater treatment systems
as a means of sewage disposal will be permitted
consistent with local, State, and Federal laws and
regulations only in the following situations:
a. On land unsuitable for conventional on-
site sewage disposal systems and which is
not served by public sewer; or
• b. On land suitable for conventional on-site
sewage disposal systems and which is not
served by public sewer but where, through the
clustering of dwelling units, open space is
preserved for providing recreation areas
and/or for scenic, environmental and
agricultural protection purposes.
In the case of new development, such systems will
be permitted only in conjunction with the approval
of a Special Use Permit for property located in a
zoned township or a Preliminary Subdivision Plat
for property located in an unzoned township.
4.
