This bill was introduced by Senators Walker and <br /> Hunt, providing $35,u00 for the 1989-90 and 1990-91 fiscal years <br /> to the Orange County Parks and Recreation Department. This bill <br /> was reviewed and endorsed by the Orange County Domiciliary Home <br /> Community Advisory Committee (DHCAC) on March 14, <br /> • <br /> Advisory Committee, staffed <br /> BACKGROUND: The Domiciliary Home Community recognized the need for more <br /> by the Department on Aging, 9 ni.. <br /> meaningful leisure activities for home residents and began <br /> pursuing state funds in 1986 for a f aci l i ator to work with <br /> Rest Home/Family Care Home operators. In the <br /> Assembly $12,000 of discretionary funds were allocated to <br /> the County Recreation and Parks Department to employ a part- <br /> . time Facilitator for nine months, ending June 30, 1989. <br /> Senate Bill 312 would continue the Facili1traposition on <br /> a full time basis, provide necessary supplies <br /> independent evaluation of the project for possible establishment <br /> of a statewide program. <br /> I <br /> I <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and communicate endorsement to the Orange <br /> County <br />
