GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF NORTH CAROLINA SESSION 1989 12 <br /> • <br /> 1 conveyances or other instruments , including • <br /> 2 contracts and agreements with the United States, <br /> '3 the State of North Carolina, and units of local <br /> 4 government; <br /> 5 (10) To surrender to the State of North Carolina any <br /> 6 property no longer reauired by the Authority; <br /> 7 (11) To develop and make data, plans, information, <br /> 8 surveys and studies of public trans .ortation <br /> 9 facilities within the territorial -jurisdiction of <br /> 10 the Authority, to prepare and make recommendations <br /> 11 in regard thereto; <br /> 12 ( 12) To enter in a reasonable manner. lands , waters or <br /> 13 premises for the Pursose of makin. surve s , <br /> 14 soundinos , drillincs , and examinations whereby such <br /> 15 entry shall not be deemed a trespass except that <br /> 16 the Authority shall be liable for any actual and <br /> 17 <br /> consequential damages resulting from such entries; <br /> 18 ( 13) To develop and carry out demonstration projects; <br /> 19 ( 14 ) To make, enter into, and perform contacts with <br /> 20 private parties, and public transportation • <br /> 21 companies with respect to the management and <br /> 22 operation of public passenger transportation; <br /> 23 <br /> (15) To make, enter into, and perform contracts with any <br /> 24 public utility, railroad or transportation company <br /> 25 for the joint use of property or rights , for the <br /> 26 establishment of through routes, joint fares or <br /> 27 . transfer of passengers; <br /> 28 . (16) To make , enter into, and perform agreements with <br /> 29 governmental entities for payments to the Authority <br /> 30 for the transportation of persons for whom the <br /> 31 oovernmental entities desire transportation; <br /> 32 ( 17 ) With the consent of tne unit of local covernment <br /> 33 which would otherwise have il::isdiction tc exercise <br /> 34 the powers enumerated in this subdivision: to issue <br /> 35 certificates of public convenience and necessity; <br /> 89-LBX-006C(2.17 ) Page 9 <br /> 1 <br />
