The overriding consideration is this question: <br /> What does this proposed ordinance protect against that our <br /> • existing local ordinances and State laws do not cover? or <br /> • cannot cover? If certain minor amendments are necessary to <br /> our local development ordinances, then those should be made <br /> on their merit. <br /> 2. Costs. Implementing the ordinance will impose costs on <br /> the County for professional staff and costs' on property <br /> owners (which will be passed on to citizens) both for <br /> preparing the statements and because of the delays built into <br /> the process. The time delays as spelled out in the ordinance <br /> only serve to prolong an already long and tedious process and <br /> delays cost money. <br /> • 3. Need for Timetable.
