(Coordinated Agency Transportation) vehicles in serving low income, <br /> handicapped, and elderly clients for essential community services in Rural Orange. <br /> Overall County population is 90,000 with 40,000 living outside Chapel Hill-Carr- <br /> boro transit area. Estimate is_1,000 low income elderly families reside in this • <br /> area. <br /> 2.Stets in quantifiable and measurably towns the specific problem the VISTA project will address,Including the number <br /> of tow-income people directly effected by the problem. <br /> • <br /> It is estimated that 300 low income elderly families in Rural Orange have <br /> transportation problems to essential community services. <br /> 3.H VISTA Volunteers talti be sesigned to organhxedons other than yours,list those orgaossdans,and provide a letter <br /> of support from the Board of Directors of each organ dzadon. <br /> 4.If other organizations are addressing the problem described In number 2,Indicate any plans to coordinate the VISTA <br /> Project with these organs stlons. <br /> The Human Services Transporation Board composed of C.A.T.. Agencies (OCCHS, JOCCA <br /> OPC mental Health Center, Aging) is concerned about the utilization of transportation <br /> to more eligible low income persons.
