The Department on Aging, who will be the designated sponsoring unit, functions as an advocate for the interest of older adults, plans and provides services and coordinate programs sensitive to the changing needs. _ In 1984-86 the. Department on Aging was a successful VISTA site station which_result • in. the development of the telephone ressurance program , sickroom equipment loan closet, and the OCIM Home Delivered Meals service in northern Orange County. All programs continue to exist and provide assistance through the effort of public and private - volunteer sector. • • 2.
