The Grant period would <br /> be from April 1, 1989 through March 30, 1990 which includes a stipend <br /> and living expenses paid by ACTION. County will pay any job related <br /> transportation expense. <br /> BACKGOUND: Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) is a full-time <br /> • year-long volunteer progam for individuals over 18 years of age committed <br /> to improving the conditions of the low income community. The County <br /> Commissioners approved on -April 4, 1988 the submission of a VISTA <br /> application for the C.A.T Transportation Specialist and an inter- <br /> departmental Outreach Coordinator position. ACTION has approved only <br /> the one position that will develop a marketing plan and assist in <br /> implementing it for the C.A.T (Coordinated Agency Transportation) <br /> program. <br /> 4,. <br /> . • <br /> RECOMMENDATION/Wm Approve and authorize the Chair to sign the <br /> memorandum of Agreement, Project No.-NC-31-169-9. <br />
