On November 15, 1988, the Board of Commissioners approved <br /> the acceptance of CBA expansion funds in the amount of <br /> $3,200. It was recommended by the Youth Services Task <br /> Force and endorsed by the Commissioners that these monies <br /> be allocated to the following agencies: <br /> Dispute Settlement Center $1,000.00 <br /> OHS/OPC Project 250.00 <br /> Janus-Tree House 400.00 <br /> Phillips/Culbreth/CHHS Project 650.00 <br /> 4-H Camp Scholarships 900.00 <br /> 2. On November 15, 1988, the Board of Commissioners approved <br /> a state grant for the Orange County Health Department. <br /> These funds will be used to support the Environmental <br /> Health division of the department. <br /> 3. The Board of Commissioners, on January 3, 1989, approved <br /> two contracts for the Orange County Department on Aging <br /> and the Department of Social Services. These contracts <br /> were for the receipt of Senate Bill 1559 funds from the <br /> Triangle J Council of Governments. These funds will be <br /> used to care for the frail and fragile elderly. The <br /> total of the grants is $29,859 and require a $244 local <br /> match. This match will be provided through available <br /> funding in the Department on Aging's budget. <br /> 4. The Orange County Department of Social Services has been <br /> awarded a grant from the Emergency Food and Shelter <br /> National Board. The grant totals $5,283.50 and will be <br /> used for utility payments in heat related crises. <br />
