State funds allocated <br /> to Orange County are (1) Chore under In-Home Support- $7,896, <br /> (2) Respite Care under Caregiver Support- $ 13043, (3) Minor <br /> Home Repairs under Title III-D State Supplemental,- .$2, 193 (require <br /> a $244 local match) and (4) Outreach under regional Neighborhood <br /> Advisor Project- $ 6,627. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> These long term care funds are targeted for the frail or fragile <br /> elderly to remain in their homes or to assist isolated elderly. <br /> Both County Directors on Aging and Social Services have conferred <br /> on the use of these limited funds. The Aging Director would <br /> coordinate the application process and. would administer the minor <br /> home repairs funds and the Neighborhood Outreach Advisor Project. <br /> The Department of Social Services would administer the Chore <br /> and Respite Care Funds. Funds for Respite Care, Chore, and home <br /> Repair (health related) will be coordinated through the inter- <br /> Departmental Care Management Team. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : . Recommend Approval . <br />
