Child care <br /> arrangements excluded from the definition of day <br /> care facility in G.S. 110-86 (3) are excluded <br /> as day care homes. <br /> . . <br /> (10) "Department" means the Department of Human Resources. - <br /> . _ . <br /> (11) "Division" means the Division of Facility Services - <br /> within the Department of Rumen Resources. <br /> , . <br /> . . <br /> (12) - "Group" means the children assigned to a specific <br /> caregiver, or caregivers, to meet the staff/child ratios <br /> set forth in G.S. 110-91 (7) and this Subchapter, using <br /> • space which is identifiable for each group. <br /> .., <br /> . (13) "Licensee" means the person or entity that is granted <br /> permission by the-State of North Carolina to operate a <br /> - - - day care center. <br /> .- --- _ <br /> (14) "Licensing Manual" means the document published by the <br /> Child Day Care Section which contains the procedures and <br /> standards required by North Carolina law, the - <br /> Commission and the Department for licensure of child <br /> day care centers. The licensing manual may be obtained <br /> from the Section at the address given in Paragraph (1) <br /> of this Rule. <br /> . - <br /> . . • . _ <br /> _ . <br /> ( <br /> (15) "Operator's after-school children" means, for the <br /> purposes of implementing G.S. 110-86 (3) , the operator's <br /> own children who are school-aged according to the <br /> definition of a school-aged child. • <br /> (16) "Operator" means the person or entity held responsible <br /> by law as the owner of a child day care business. The <br /> terms "operator", "sponsor" or "licensee" are used <br /> interchangeably. <br /> (17) "Passageway" means a hall or corridor. <br /> _ <br /> (16) "Preschool-aged child" means any child between birth <br /> - - and five years who does not fit the definition of <br /> school-aged child in Paragraph (21) . <br /> (19) "Provisional License" means the type of license issued ' <br /> to a center which does not conform in every respect with <br /> the standards for an "A" license. . . - <br /> (20) "Registrant" means the person or entity that is granted • <br /> _ . permission by the State of North Carolina to operate a <br /> day care home. <br /> . <br /> (21) "School-aged child" means any child who is at least <br /> five years old on or before October 16 of- the current <br /> -2- . <br />
