7 <br /> EXISTING PROVISIONS: See attached provisions. <br /> PROPOSED AMENDMENTS: The proposed amendments are as follows: <br /> ARTICLE 22. DEFINITIONS <br /> Day Care - Any child care arrangement under which a child <br /> less than 13 years of age receives care away from <br /> his own home by persons other than his parents, <br /> grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters <br /> who are not minors, and guardians or full-time <br /> custodians. <br /> Ray Care Facility - Any day care center or child care <br /> arrangement that provides day care for more than <br /> five (5) children, not including the operator's <br /> school aae. children, under the age of 13, on a <br /> regular basis of at least once per week for more <br /> than four (4) hours but less than 24 hours per <br /> day, and those operating fewer than four (4) hours <br /> Rgg ggy that provide care for more children Rgg <br /> adult care giver than would be Rprmitted in an AA <br /> State licensed center, regardless of the time of <br /> day and regardless of whether the same children <br /> attend regularly. <br /> The following facilities are not included: public <br /> schools; non-public schools whether or not <br /> accredited by the State Department of Public <br /> Instruction, which regularly and exclusively <br /> provides a course of grade school instruction to <br /> children who are of public school age; summer <br /> camps having children in full-time residence; <br /> Bible schools conducted for no more than three <br /> weeks during vacation periods; and cooperative <br /> arrangements among parents who care only for their <br /> own children in an arrangement as a matter of <br /> convenience rather than to enable gny <br /> participating parent to be employed. <br /> (These definitions are identical to those contained in G.S. <br /> 110, Article 7 - Day Care Facilities. Underlined sections <br /> are changes proposed by Child Care Networks. ) <br /> ARTICLE 4. PERMITTED USE TABLE <br /> • <br /> Change the wording for item H-1 on Table 4.3 - Permitted Uses <br /> from "Day Nursery, Day care, Private Kindergarten" to "Day <br /> Care Facility" . Day care facilities would still be permitted <br /> in the same zoning districts on the same basis - see below. <br />
