19 <br />SECTION VII Local Government Experience <br />Requirement 7. <br />Discuss your firm's knowledge of and experience with local government operations. <br />The members of our firm have extensive education and experience in local government <br />operations. Mr. Savia, in addition to his education in government administration, served <br />as the Assistant Duectm of Government Programs for Florida Atlantic University where <br />he worked with Florida local governments He developed the fast fue chiefs <br />management training program in the state. He has worked with city and county managers <br />across the country on issues such as budgeting, labor relations, human resource <br />management and personnel policies and procedures, economic development, and <br />emergency services. <br />Mr. Savia has served on local government boards over the years, He has served on a <br />Community Relations Board and on a Community Development Agency. <br />Mr. Farmer's experience is specifically related to fire and rescue services and has worked <br />with many of the fire departments and rescue squads in North Carolina, His service on the <br />Fire Rescue Commission included being involved in the State's training and certification <br />system. <br />Mr, Mills served on the Hurley Fire Commission, an elected position overseeing the <br />budget and operations of the fire department. He also served on the Wake County Fire <br />Commission, a countywide appointed body responsible for providing the County <br />Commission with support on fire and rescue related policies, including the annual budget <br />for departments. <br />16
