!8 <br />SECTION VI Qualifications <br />delivered training programs in 35 states and has spoken at four national fine service <br />conferences including FDIC and IAFC programs. <br />Ken is the former Chief' and Safety Officer for the Fuquay-Variia Fie Department near <br />Raleigh. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a BA in Political <br />Science and Government <br />Ken is a member of the National Fire Protection Association, International Society of Fire <br />Service Instructors, and the National Fire Academy Alunni Association. He is also a <br />member of the North Carolina Association of Fie Chiefs. He served on various <br />committees and the Board of Directors of the International Society of Fie Service <br />Instructors, as well as having served as the 1996-1998 President of the Association. <br />George C. Mills III <br />George Mills is a Senior Associate of The Sage Group. He is a seasoned professional <br />having spent 30 years in various management roles with IBM. He has Bachelors of <br />Science in Electrical Engineering. <br />His Fire/Rescue and EMS experience dates back to 1973 when he was a member of the <br />Hurley Fire Department (Hurley, New York). He spent four years as a commissioner of <br />the Hurley Fie Conu nission, the policy making political body for the department and was <br />Cbaiman of the Board for two years. <br />George is the former Chief of the Bay Leaf Volunteer Fire Department and a former <br />member of the Wake County Fire Commission. George led the ISO rating process for <br />Bay Leaf that resulted in a favorable Class 6 for a department with a district that has less <br />than 30% covered by water hydrants. He served as the Department Training Officer and <br />played a critical role in the increase of the Department's paid staff. He continues to serve <br />as a volunteer with Bay Leaf. George is currently an adjunct faculty member of the Fire <br />Protection Technology Associates Degree Program at Durham Technical Community <br />College in Durham, North Carolina and was awarded the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty <br />Excellence in Teaching Award m 2003. <br />George's experience with and knowledge of computers adds significantly to the firm's <br />ability to use technology in serving our clients. <br />15
