ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: January 24, 2006 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. <br />SUBJECT: Change in BOCC Regular Meeting Schedule <br />DEPARTMENT: County Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT (S): <br />NO <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Donna Baker, 245-2130 <br />PURPOSE: To consider one change in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar <br />for year 2006. <br />BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br />Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in <br />the Regular Meeting Schedule. <br />Currently, the Commissioners' regular meeting calendar for Thursday, February 16th has a <br />scheduled 5:30 p.m.. dinner meeting with an advisory board (which was changed to January 3151 <br />with the Board of Health), therefore leaving this time slot available. <br />The Board of County Commissioners is asked to consider (for Thursday, February 16th at <br />Southern Human Services Center): <br />• adding a work session on district elections and school equity , from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. <br />• dinner from 6:30-7:30 pm <br />• regularly scheduled work -session --7:30pm-10:00 pm - <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE <br />RECOMMENDATION (S): The Manager recommends that the Board amend their regular <br />meeting on Thursday, February 16, 2006: <br />• adding a work session on district elections and school equity, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. <br />• dinner from 6:30-7:30 pm <br />• regularly scheduled work -session --7:30pm-10:00pm
