15 <br />• Insures the compliance with the RRMO and other regulated materials when materials are <br />delivered to the landfill and adjust the scale tickets as necessary. <br />Duties of Class Landfill Equipment Operator <br />Operates compactors, loaders, scraper pans, bulldozers, skid steers, tractors, and heavy trucks to <br />clear wooded land; build and maintain critical grade and access roads; build and maintain earth <br />dam to prevent waste leakage; build erosion control slopes and maintain grade; clean out <br />sediment pond; deliver dirt as needed for daily, intermediate, or final cover. Operates a tanker <br />trick to haul leachate from the landfill to the treatment plant. Decides how to direct public <br />dumping to keep compacting areas as small and as safe as possible. Responds to questions from <br />the public on dumping and landfill rules and regulations. Fuels equipment and performs routine <br />preventive maintenance such as lubricating and changing oil and filters. Ensures cleanliness of <br />landfill areas for State inspection. Inspects customers' loads for unacceptable refuse and reports <br />any banned materials that do not meet landfill requirements to the Landfill Inspector or <br />Operations Manager. Fills in for other' positions as needed. Performs other related duties as <br />assigned. All operators within the Department must be capable of'operating all the heavy <br />equipment. <br />Position #15 Landfill Equipment Operator <br />This position's primary responsibility is to operate the MSW side of the landfill. This position is <br />in charge of planning, both long range and short range for cell construction, placement of <br />garbage, compaction of all material, road construction and maintenance to the dumping area, and <br />insuring that the correct type of daily cover is completed as required by our operating permit.. <br />Position #16 Landfill Equipment Operator <br />This position's primary responsibility is to operate the Construction and Demolition area's wood <br />waste Horizontal Grinder used for processing vegetative and clean wood waste. This position is <br />in charge of scheduling the initial placement, grinding, turning, and assists in loading of finished <br />products to different vendors and the public. <br />Position #17 Landfill Equipment Operator <br />This position's primary responsibility is to oversee the White Goods, Clan Metal, and Tire <br />processing areas, The position oversees the placement of White Goods, Clean Metal, and Tires <br />insuring that all materials are stockpiled in the correct area until processed for sale. It insures that <br />the material accepted is in the proper state for processing and does not contain any material that <br />is not acceptable by our operating permit within that area. It also loads most of the outgoing <br />mulch to customers. <br />Position #18 Landfill Equipment Operator <br />This position's primary responsibility is to oversee the leachate collection and disposal system <br />plus the movement of any material as needed for daily cover. This position is responsible for <br />insuring that leachate that is generated by the Solid Waste is monitored and disposed of <br />according to our operating permit in a timely manner.
