7
WALTER T . MCFALL, IV
5909 Orange Grove Road
Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278
August 17, 1993
Orange County Planning Department
306F Revere Road
Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278
Re : Comprehensive Plan Amendment CP-3-93
Submitted by Bobby Kirk, Sr. and Bobby Kirk, Jr.
Dear Sirs/Madames :
As the owner of Lot 12, Tax Map 11, Bingham Township,
I strongly oppose the proposal of rezoning from Agricultural-
Residential to Rural Neighborhood Activity Node .
I understand that a zoning designation of Rural Neighborhood
Activity Node allows commercial usage . Again, I strongly oppose
the rezoning proposal .
I have been informed that the parties submitting this
proposal, Bobby Kirk, Sr . and Bobby Kirk, Jr . , plan to construct
and operate a convenience/country store at the corner of Orange
Grove Road and Bradshaw Quarry Road . This property is directly
adjacent to my property, the property on which I reside . My
reasons for opposition include :
1 . The possibility of gasoline run-off contaminating the
water table .
2 . The -disturbance of peace, quiet and privacy in a
country setting which I have become accustomed to for the last 10
years .
3 . The devaluation of my property.
4 . The increased risk of automobile accidents at an
already accident prone intersection .
As an owner of a convenience store, I personally know the
comings and goings of traffic, noise, and unpredictable
circumstances which are unavoidable due to the type of business
being operated . I do not wish to live next door to a convenience
store or any other type of commercial business .
