104
E\T
Zan...a/ .
226 S. Churton St., Hillsborough. NC
732-6262
October 8, 1993
Orange County Planning Board
Orange County Commissioners
do Mary Willis
Revere Road
Hillsborough, NC 27278
Dear Commissioners and Planners:
I have recently been made aware of the proposal to prohibit
designated water supply watersheds in septic field easements within
Orange County. I believe this will put an
unnecessary burden on the county's landowners.
supplies regulation of the physical location of a septic system with respect to designated water
u
Pplies and their tributaries is an appropriate method of protecting water quality. The
physical location of a septic system with respect to an arbitrary
equivalent(or even discernible) effect on water quality. Thly effect of dis-allowing
septic system easements would be to decrease the density of development below the level
which has already been suggested for adoption. If lesser densities are desired, they should
be placed on the watershed as a whole, not exclusively on those landowners whose land
has only concentrated areas of suitable soil.
In fairness to all county residents, I urge you to reject the proposal to prohibit septic field
easements.
Sincerely,
Steve F. Yuhasz
