Diabetes education is instrumental in preventing and lessening <br /> the complications of the disease. According to the North Carolina <br /> Diabetes Control Program, there are between 2, 250 and 3,405 people with <br /> diabetes in Orange County. Education is the key to enlightening the <br /> citizens of North Carolina. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : To proclaim the month of November as "National Diabetes <br /> Month" in Orange County and authorize the Chair to sign the proclamation <br /> on behalf of the Board. <br />
