Commissioner Price asked if there is a reason someone cannot be sworn in. Chair Dorosin said he does not know why this would not be possible. Commissioner Price asked Commissioner Jacobs about the MPO, since he is on this board, and if there would be a steep learning curve. Commissioner Jacobs said every board has its own culture and language, but he feels any Commissioner would be capable of serving. Commissioner Marcoplos suggested that former Commissioner Pelissier be allowed to represent them at tomorrow's meeting at the MPO, and the BOCC appoint someone tonight who would become effective December 15th Commissioner McKee agreed with Commissioner Marcoplos, to let former Commissioner Pelissier represent the BOCC tomorrow, and appoint someone else, effective whatever date the BOCC chooses. Commissioner Rich said she is not in favor of allowing former Commissioner Pelissier to continue as the BOCC representative to the GoTriangle BOD, and would favor appointing someone tonight to represent the BOCC going forward. Commissioner Burroughs said she is comfortable with Commissioner Marcoplos' suggestion. Commissioner Price agreed with Commissioner Rich to appoint someone right away. Chair Dorosin noted that the agenda for tomorrow's GoTriangle Board meeting is at their places, and pointed out that there may be an opportunity to raise several questions that the BOCC has. VOTE: Ayes, 6; Nays, 1 (Commissioner McKee) Commissioner Jacobs said the GoTriangle Representative at the MPO meeting tomorrow is former Commissioner Pelissier, and someone needs to contact her with this updated information. Commissioner McKee agreed with Commissioner Jacobs, but said the new appointee needs to be sworn in prior to the MPO meeting. Donna Baker said the BOD meeting is at noon, and the new appointee could be sworn in at that time. She said someone would need to contact former Commissioner Pelissier to communicate the change made this evening, and there would not be a GoTriangle representative at the MPO meeting tomorrow morning. Commissioner Jacobs agreed, and said there is no guarantee that the BOD would appoint the BOCC member to the MPO.
