1 <br /> APPROVED 2/7/2017 <br /> MINUTES <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> December 13, 2016 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, December <br /> 13, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center in Chapel Hill, N.C. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Dorosin, Commissioners Mia Burroughs, Barry <br /> Jacobs, Earl McKee, Mark Marcoplos, Renee Price and Penny Rich <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br /> Travis Myren and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will be identified <br /> appropriately below) <br /> Chair Dorosin called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br /> 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> Commissioner Rich asked if the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) appointment <br /> to the GoTriangle Board could be added to the agenda. <br /> Chair Dorosin said to add this item as 7-d on the evening's agenda. He reviewed the <br /> following items at the Commissioners' places: <br /> - White sheet: information about the light rail from Commissioner McKee <br /> - Lavender sheet: agenda for GoTriangle's Board meeting tomorrow <br /> - Blue sheet: revised proclamation of Bill of Rights, item 6-c <br /> - White sheets: PowerPoint for item 7-a <br /> PUBLIC CHARGE <br /> Chair Dorosin dispensed with the reading of the Public Charge. <br /> 2. Public Comments <br /> a. Matters not on the Printed Agenda <br /> Robin Jacobs, Executive Director of the Eno River Association, presented the 2017 <br /> Eno River Association Calendar to the Board and staff, and thanked the Board of County <br /> Commissioners for its on-going commitment to their partnership. <br /> b. Matters on the Printed Agenda <br /> (These matters will be considered when the Board addresses that item on the agenda below.) <br /> 3. Announcements and Petitions by Board Members <br /> Commissioner Jacobs petitioned to eliminate the practice of attributing planning efforts <br /> to particular Commissioners in the abstracts. <br />
